Lakeside Setting

The Little Wedding Chapel at Heritage Park is in historic West-Mound Church where history and tradition flourish. Constructed in 1882, this splendid old 19th century Chapel was moved for preservation to one of Metro Detroit's loveliest lakeside park settings and fully restored. The towering steeple can be seen as one approaches the park and a grand, natural wooden staircase ascends to the front porch with a view overlooking tranquil Coan Lake.

With accommodations for up to 140 guests, this setting is lavished in flowers reminiscent of a style from yesterday's past. Complete with pine wood floors, cathedral ceiling, and wondrous stained glass windows, the church is adorned with white antique pews trimmed in walnut and embellished with elaborate pew bows. The bride prepares in a private dressing room amongst comfortable Victorian furnishings and enters the chapel through stained-glass French doors. A romantic non-denominational ceremony is performed amongst a three tiered alter all aglow in candlelight by one of the community's renowned ordained ministers.
